In February 2024, I had the opportunity to spend a month in beautiful Sardinia as a visiting researcher at the University of Sassari. It was a fantastic chance to meet incredible people, strengthen existing collaborations, and initiate new ones.

New paper out! 🎉📰🔉 The results of a cool, multi-disciplinary collaboration led by Marco Malavasi have been finally published in People and Nature! Using point pattern analysis, we identified which habitat types did the Nuragic civilisation (Sardinia, 1700 – 580 BCE) prefer when planning their settlements in Sardinia.

Great news! 🎉🥳 Since December 2022, I am part of the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Vegetation Science! Focusing on all aspects of plant community ecology, Journal of Vegetation Science publishes papers on any aspect related to vegetation science, including community structure, biodiversity, spatial patterns, temporal changes (including demography, community dynamics and palaeoecology) and processes (including ecophysiology).

I am very new to blogging, so I thought I’d start with an introductory post. I am a vegetation scientist broadly interested in biodiversity monitoring. My main research focus is the multi-faceted analysis of patterns and drivers of temporal vegetation change, but I am also interested in evaluating the effectiveness of protected areas in maintaining and/or improving the conservation status of EU habitats.
